Bruce Brown

Bruce Brown was born in Scotland then educated at the Royal College of Art in London.

He is presently a Professor of Design and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research at the University of Brighton in England. He was appointed by the funding councils for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to chair the Main Panel responsible for assessing the quality of all arts and humanities research produced by UK universities for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

He has chaired
the Portuguese Government’s Research Grants Panel for the Arts, advised the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation and the Qatar National Research Fund. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1970 and a member of the Academia Europaea in 2015.
